EXPANDING OUR CHURCH OUTSIDE OUR WALLS

Then the king will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; 35for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’ 37Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? 38And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? 39And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?’ 40And the king will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.’ (Matthew 25:34-40)

North Shore Faith Community Church is committed to bringing the Kingdom of God to its local community. We fervently believe that a church is not confined by its wall, rather we believe if our efforts are to glory God they must purposely extend beyond our walls and into our neighborhood. To date, we have been involved with many local and national community partners to advance our mission. They include:

Toys for Tots Christmas Ministry
Through our partnership with the Community Action Partnership of Lake County, North Shore sponsored a Christmas party for 10 low-income families in December 2009. Children received new toys to enhance their holiday season.

Hope for Haiti Fund
North Shore has rallied behind the Haitian relief efforts by raising funds to help unite a local Haitian native with her siblings who were displaced from their homes.

Ministering at Great Lakes Naval Base
Rev. Green regularly serves as a volunteer clergy at the Great Lakes Naval Base, the United States Navy's Headquarters Command for training located in North Chicago. Here Rev. Green teaches Sunday School, preaches and pastors to the over 600 military recruits stationed there. As a result, many sailors have received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and many others have enjoyed the solace and comfort that can only be attained by communion with Christ.

“So I prophesied, just as he commanded me. The breath entered them and they came alive! They stood up on their feet, a huge army.”

Soles for Souls
North Shore partners with a local shelter to collect shoes for families in need.
