“And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” (Jeremiah 3:15)

The Rev. Rosemarie Green has a passion for co-laboring with God to facilitate health and wellness spiritually, mentally, and physically. By trade, she is a pharmacist as well as researcher and developer of pharmaceutical drugs that make a difference in the lives of others. In the body of Christ, she is the founder and pastor of North Shore Faith Community Church, a new ministry in Gurnee, Illinois.

Her unique spiritual gift involves helping people discover their divine purpose and facilitating their “spiritual formation” or development. She equips, empowers and energizes people to walk in their destiny and make a difference in the world.

Ministerial Training
Rev. Green earned a master’s of divinity in 1997 from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, located on the Evanston, Ill. campus of Northwestern University. That same year, after completing seminary school, she was ordained into the Gospel ministry by Rev. Dr. Hycel B. Taylor, former senior pastor of Second Baptist Church in Evanston. While serving at Second Baptist Church, Rev. Green led a variety of ministries, including worship, Christian education, women’s ministry and strategic planning. In her last five years at Second Baptist, she served as assistant pastor.

Planting of a New Church
On Nov. 29, 2009, Rev. Green united with a small group to plant North Shore Faith Community Church in Gurnee. The racially diverse congregation aims to nurture the whole person through spiritual development as well as through empowering sessions in social consciousness, strengthening marriage and family relationships, financial fitness, entrepreneurship, economic wealth, and health and wellness.

Professional Career
Health education is a natural focal point for Rev. Green. During her 24-year career in health care, she has worked as a pharmacist, a pharmaceutical sales person and a project manager. She has travelled abroad to countries, such as Japan, United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, France, The Netherlands, Spain, Austria, and Germany as a global researcher and developer of drugs for stomach, intestinal, cardiovascular and oncology care. Her career has spanned 11 years at Abbott Laboratories and nine years at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, where she recently worked as a global project director. She has a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Purdue University School of Pharmacy in West Lafayette, IN.

Community Service
Outside of her professional career and work in her own church, Rev. Green leads monthly worship service and occasionally bimonthly for 600 military recruits stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Base. As past director of the Chicago chapter of the National Consortium of Women in Ministry, she has galvanized and organized women in ministry across Chicagoland. Rev. Green also is an active member of the Evanston North Shore graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Rev. Green is a native of Savannah, Ga. There, she was raised in one of the oldest African-American Baptist churches in America, Second African Baptist Church, which was formerly pastored by her great uncle, the late Rev. Edgar Perry Quarterman, a graduate of Howard University School of Divinity. She received Christ as her savior at age 12 and has been on the Christian journey ever since. One of her favorite scriptures is “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
